I was learning to write a persuasive piece of writing persuading people to stop littering.

I found this hard because I had to try to write a statement that would persuade people to stop littering.

Next time I could work with a buddy to help me.

My Speech

My Reflection: I was learning to write a persuasive speech. I found it easy to do the fasts because there was interesting facts.  I found it hard to spell successful because it is a very long word.  I need to work on adding in some interesting facts.

Fractured Fairytale


My Reflection:
I was learning to compare a fractured fairytale with the traditional fairytale. I found it easy to write about the ones thats not real.  I found it tricky to figure out what to write for the real one because it has a lot in it. I want to work on thinking of more information for comparing the two fairytales.

Matariki Acrostic Poem



My Reflection:
I was learning to write an acrostic poem about Matariki.
I found the letters M and K the easiest to write a sentence for because I know that when it is Matariki people fly kites. I found I the hardest letter because there was two of them.
I think I need to work on thinking of ideas if there are two of the same letters.

Using Fullstops and Capital Letters

I had to put in the Fullstops at the end of my sentences. It was a bit hard to do because it is tricky to know where the Fullstops go. I tried very hard.

Simile

The Clown who Couldn’t Juggle
He tried and tried but he couldn’t do it. He said I’m just going to the clown show. Let’s see what I can do but what if I don’t know what to do?
Oh no I just will go and ask someone if they can help me and if they don’t I will just be a clown squirter.

After that I will be a funny clown. I will make people laugh but not too much. I have a hat with a rose with a flower glued to my hat. People might laugh if another person sniffs my flower.

After that they laughed as loud as a dog barking. Now he is allowed to the circus.

Making a plan for my story


We are learning to make a plan. We can make a plan for any story. Making a plan helps us to remember what happened and to write about it. We need to remember to have a topic and at least 3 ideas about the topic in our plan.

Different strategies to spell words for story writing

We were learning to look in different places for words that we want to write. We look in the word cards, the red folder and around the room. We also sound out words.

We use the word cards so that it does not take us very long to write our stories.
